remains one of the best garden Eryngiums, making strong clumps with beautiful flower heads that colour to a deep cobalt blue.
Description
Eryngium (Sea Holly)
Family : Apiaceae
These tough tap rooted perennials make excellent border plants and can thrive in hot sunny spots in well-drained soil although they perform best with some good moisture retentive soil around their roots. The heavily sculpted foliage is in itself attractive and the tall stems carry domed umbels that are surrounded by attractive bracts which colour to shades of blue to vivid blue in mid to late summer.
